Sally McVey is a Kansas transplant from Nebraska. She has enjoyed helping to keep Lawrence weird with her husband and children since 2013. The community in Lawrence is vibrant and strong and they are proud to call it home.
Sally first stepped on to a yoga mat in 2000, which began the natural process of unwinding and integrating her own past traumas. While completing her Master's Degree in Social Welfare at KU, she developed an interest in the clinical-therapeutic process; consequently, inviting an intention to unite Eastern and Western modalities of wellness to encourage an integrated and harmonious lifestyle. Sally enjoys her work as a therapist where she can integrate her knowledge of both yoga and psychotherapy. She believes that people possess great insight into their situation and sometimes can benefit from a little help in uncovering holistic solutions to reach their full potential. She is motivated in continuing her education and is inspired by teachings from: Bhavani Maki, Sharyn Harley, Yogi Charu, Carole Westerman, Noah Mazé, Maria Garre, Deborah Adele, Alexandria Crow, Max Strom, Balarama Chandra Das, Trauma Informed Outreach Training, and Mindful Resilience Training through the Veterans Yoga Project.
